TDC #11: Not a Santa List

After you’ve been sick for a long time the Santa list looks completely different. You may want some practical or luxurious items, but mainly I bet you are looking for experiences, and are after something meaningful. So I thought today, together we’ll create a different kind of list, and instead of writing a list of things that you want, we’ll write a list of experiences you need.

On this show we get real about all things cancer. And now here’s your host, cancer survivor, mathematician and certified life coach, Ceca Mijatovic.

Hello and welcome back! You are listening to the episode number 11 of the Truth & Dare Cancer Podcast. If you have not yet done so please subscribe to us on iTunes or wherever you get your podcast, and like us on Facebook.

I’m your host Ceca Mijatovic and today’s show is inspired by the holidays, more specifically by Santa list. I mean when you are sick or have been sick for a long time the Santa list looks completely different. You may want some practical or luxurious items, but mainly I bet you are looking after experiences. So I thought today we’ll create a different kind of list, and instead of writing a list of things that we want, we’ll write a list of experiences we need.

Grab a pen and paper and draw three columns. I’ll tell you a little later what to do with the second and third column.  In the first you’ll write the list of the experiences that I’m about to go over and there are 12 of them so leave some room between each item, and also feel free to add to this list:

So here is the list of the experiences:

  1. More sleep and rest
  2. More healthier nutrition
  3. More learning
  4. More surrender and letting go
  5. More present moments
  6. More nature
  7. More love
  8. More truth
  9. More daring moments
  10. More clarity
  11. More creativity
  12. More contemplation

So now that we have this list I invite you to write ‘why’ on the top of the second column and the word ‘how’ on the top of the third column. In the second column you’ll write why each of these is important to you to manifest, and in the third column you’ll write how you’ll implement each of the items on this list.

For example: More nature, I need to spend more time in nature because I enjoy the healing effect it has and it also helps me clear my head and inspires me to be fully present, I talked about it in the earlier episode healing vibes of trees. And then, how I’m going to implement being more in nature is increase the number of times I take a walk in a neighborhood park, let’s say I now do it 3x/week.

And guess what: this is a gift you have to figure out how to give to yourself. This is the kind of list that needs to remain on your phone, on your nightstand and on your desk at all times. And please look at it often and every day strive to create more time and space for your list.
